- Golden India Mines and Infrastructure Limited is a pioneer in Mining and Infrastructure development in Southern India.
- SEZs provide attractive fiscal incentives for both developers and end users. SEZs are a key element of the infrastructure development plans of the Government of India to help accelerate the growth of Indian economy. SEZs will be developed as an integrated development with facilities including residential complexes, Schools, Hospitals, Commercial and Retail facilities like Hotels, Service Apartments and Malls.
- The company has a huge land bank for the development of SEZs and Warehousing stations.
Golden India Industrial Estate
Golden India Group has a huge land bank of 650 acres in Tuticorin. The first phase of the project will have 250 acres of Engineering and Metallurgy SEZ. The site is 25 kms from Tuticorin Port, 20kms from the Tuticorin Airport and 25 kms from the Tirunelveli Railway Station.
The 250 acres SEZ project will be developed at an estimated cost of INR 266 Crores ($58 million).
Activities to be undertaken within the SEZ will include:
- Engineering component manufacturing
- Automobile components and parts
- Electrical components
- Metallurgy
- Heavy engineering goods
- Allied engineering goods/components
- Light engineering
The entire SEZ would be developed in phases. It is proposed “customized” factory buildings of international standard construction with state of the art facilities and infrastructure such as:
- Project planning by international class consultants.
- Ample landscaping for the entire complex.
- 24 hrs uninterrupted power supply.
- 100% power back-up for all electrical supply including air-conditioning.
- Ample car parking space.
- Self contained complex with food courts, gymnasium and other recreational activities.
- Secure data transmission lines through fibre optic cables.
- First aid facilities.
- Ready to use Plug and use facility for the Engineering units.
In addition to the above, other facilities which would be available within the SEZ are:
Necessary internal infrastructure including:
- Internal roads
- Generators
- Water treatment plant, etc.
- Food courts for the employees and restaurants
The area would be developed as per the applicable development regulations and the balance land would be used for development of the following
- Housing
- Power plant
- Hotel
- Recreation and entertainment facilities
Apart from this, the SEZ area would also consist of Greenery, gardens, inner service roads lanes, surface parking, utilities, and landscaping.
Utilities Support by the Government of Tamil Nadu
We are in the process of approaching the State Government to provide the necessary support to the SEZ.
Additionally, it is expected the Tamil Nadu Government will facilitate timely provision of infrastructure in and around the SEZ area and specifically, the following facilities have been proposed:
- Wide access roads to SEZ boundary
- HT Power sub-station
- Availability of water
- Sewerage and drainage connection
- Public transportation
Employment Generation Potential
During the construction phase, various contractors will be engaged on the project. It is estimated that 500 to 800 people of all categories (skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled) will find employment during this phase of the project.
During operational phase, within two years of commercial operations having commenced, 3000 employees, (permanent as well as temporary) will be employed in the SEZ.
